Z2 Force Not Receiving Texts and Pictures

Hi all,

I have a Moto Z2 Force that is not receiving text messages until I click on the icon for the app. If I don't click on the app for Messenger and someone sent me a text, I won't see it until I open the app. I know my notifications are turned on. How can I fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! Are you getting notifications for other apps, like email? Do you have any power-saving modes turned on, or 3rd party battery-saver or "memory booster" apps installed?

Try going into Settings > Apps & Notifications > App info > Messages > App Notifications. Make sure the "On" and the "Allow Notification Dot" are selected.
