Buy now button has appeared on the US sony site for the Z3C......hoping this means release of the unlocked US version with US warranty is imminent.

I guess I am asking how good is the warranty on USA Model ?

The US warranty is only 1 year, but your credit card may extend it another year. The UK warranty is 2 years but you'll have to ship it to your UK retailer first. Credit card company probably won't extend a non US warranty.

Did they confirm the US price yet? If it's $600 plus tax and shipping, I would probably rather save $150+.

Update. As others have mentioned, you can buy it on the US Sony store, but it's backordered.

$529.99 or $476.99 if you sign up on their student and faculty store.

Not too bad!

Just called Sony to ask if they know when the phone will ship. The woman even looked at warehouse info and said she didn't have any update for me as it says no specific date.

Read on another forum that you don't even have to be a student. You can buy it "for a student" and still get $50 off.
