Zenfone 2 reception in buildings

I am in Naples Florida area. I notice I get very little to zero reception inside restaurants, many supermarkets and today visiting the Immokalee Casino same problem. My buddy had reception. I am on T mobile he is on Verizon.

Are there any settings that improve the reception? Is this normal

That's more of a T-Mobile issue than a phone-specific issue. T-Mobile's network is generally worse for penetration inside buildings. If those places have wi-fi, turn on your wi-fi and turn on wi-fi calling as well, which might help your reception somewhat.
