Zenfone 2 US pricing and availability (available now!)

As you can read in AC's blog - We're live today from ASUS' North American launch (1 p.m. EDT) | Android Central - will go on sale tomorrow for just $299 for 4GB/64GB model and 199 for 2GB/16GB version. Available from many common online retailers like Amazon, Newegg, B&H. Read the link above for a little more info.

Edit: It's now officiallly for sale at above prices. First sighting was on B&H photo video website.

Looks like the three retailers above are carrying the full 551 in red, gold, black and silver; the 550 in black and silver.

I'll probably try out the $299 version from Amazon. It seems like a no-brainer to get double the RAM, better process, and quadruple the storage for $99 more.

Does this phone have a notification LED?

Although I can't see it in any pictures of the phone I've seen, people in other forums have said there is and that it is not customizable - don't know if apps like Light Flow would change that.

I'm a bit disappointed that it's still on 5.0. I figured the delay for the US version was probably to release it with 5.1.

I'm hoping for 5.1 soon. 5.0 on it works perfectly fine however.

Yup notification LED is there, but turned off in the settings by default. There's no built-in customization in there besides on/off, though.

It looks like the sales embargo ends at 3am eastern according to B&H. B&H will also offer a discounted accessory pack. We'll need a thread for the deals!

It's live at B&H with free expedited shipping. Newegg hasn't updated yet as of right now for the US version - still "Coming Soon." I don't see the official US version on Amazon yet (a few people are on there selling their free phones they got yesterday at a higher than retail price of course). I assume Newegg and Amazon will likely update at the beginning of business hours or soon thereafter.

I bought mine on Newegg about half an hour ago. They are offering a free battery pack. Two day shipping was an extra $15. I got grey, they are sold out of black.

Amazon is a friggin nightmare of international versions. It's pretty bad that the actual USA phone sold by Amazon is so hard to find.

I set my alarm for midnite and went to Amazon and couldn't find it. Searching only brought up re-sellers. So I googled and managed to find a link to the phone on Amazon.

However, in the article I read it said the Amazon link went live a few hours prior. So by 5 past midnite, the gold and red already said ships in 2-4 weeks, black was not available at all, and silver said, available but takes 1-2 extra days to process. This is for the $299 version. The $199 versions were all pretty much available. So I ordered my least favorite color, the silver and should have it Friday.

All options and colors are available on groupon but I'd rather use Amazon. Here's the Groupon link:
