"Zero" Gap?

I'm at the Sprint store now, waiting to see what's up with this pixel issue. I think this is worse than a gap!
Should have stayed with my first one... Ugh.

If you still have the issue with the crackling of youtube videos, try turning off "fastboot" under settings.

Get this...
So they said that to can only exchange phones once! Yeah, I almost blew a gasket... But more so that the dead/stuck pixel was an HTC known issue so they couldn't exchange it anyway. They think it's a software issue and might have a fix for it later so that wasn't a defect, thus no exchange... Rep said his had one right in the middle of the screen and not even he could exchange his.
I said no way...
I'd rather have my first one back with the very slight separation at the top...
They still had it and I'm much happier...
No way I can live with a stuck pixel.
Even though it's not "perfect", I'm happy with it and will take it .

Every HTC One has it atleast at the top. I've had my One replaced three times for that exact issue and every one has a gap at the top but this last one i've gotten doesn't have a gap at the bottom.

Ive contacted HTC about the issue and they offered to me to send it in for "repairs" but that would likely make it worse.

This is HTC's first run at an aluminum phone. Given the issues they have with building them fast enough I have little doubt there are gaps that will appear or are already on a phone. The IPhone is no better just read their threads. How about dust under the camera lens, lens that are offset.Nicks, chips and other defects out of the box.

The sensation and titan were aluminum.

Well yeah, but those were aluminium backs, with some plastic, that the whole phone slid into. Slightly different in terms of the design.

Honestly the gaps wouldn't be such a big deal, IMO, if they didn't market the "zero gap" thing. But since they did and do, it irritates the sh-t out of me.

They don't market the entire phone as zero gap, they market the aluminum section as zero gap. That doesn't include the speaker grilles.

Hey I have the same gap and I just would like to all you do you thank it will get worse had I use it or should I take action? It would be better if you could tex me at 702 347 0658 thanks so much.

I have that issue. I haven't really talked to JoviTronix (the official reseller and authorized HTC repair center of Egypt) about it because it doesn't bother me much, and also because a lot of people seemed to get replacement devices that are even worse than theirs, so I'd rather live with the gap than risk getting a device with any serious faults.

I purchased my htc one two weeks ago and it doesn't have any gaps anywhere. The top of mine is totally flush and tight.

Someone mentioned crackel like noise while watching youtube videos. I experienced this on my wifi but not on LTE. Tried neighbors WiFi and it was fine there as well. Changed my routers frequency and it went away on my router. Just a heads up.

Same here for me.

I do feel bad for those with dead pixels and gaps etc. I'd pursue a replacement if you feel something is wrong. I literally have zero gaps, dead Or stuck pixels, or any other issues. So there are units out there built very well. I just purchased mine two weeks ago.

I've got a Black HTC One. Started out with the Silver version, but a gap on the top of the phone was causing me some serious issues--pulled a couple of my hairs out on one call. This One has no gaps at all, but after two months with the phone, a different problem is popping up. The screen seems to be coming unglued from the body of the device. At the center of the screen on both sides I'm noticing a separation--much more give in the screen than I started with. I can't find any other threads on this. Anyone else seeing this happen?

Well, your current problem is way worse than a small zap on the top of the device. I suggest you take it to the HTC service center as soon as possible before the sealant melts and the problem gets even worse and they start blaming it on you as a user fault. Go!

Already in process with Sprint, just checking to see if it's an isolated case. I hope so!

So what was the conclusion? Original poster stuck with that or got that replaced? I am now in the same situation. Only 2 days remaining to act. Uploaded two pics. I can insert a thin paper inside the gap. I fear that dust/water etc might hamper with the phone in the long term as HTC service is pretty rare where I reside. Thanks.

I cannot do that with my phone. I'd replace.
