Zooming diagrams in Kindle?

I like Kindle OK but one very annoying thing. Whenever there is a diagram or figure on the page it is too small to be read. Can't find any way to zoom. Tried the largest font but that did not help. Any remedies?

I've the same issue. On the iPad you just double-tap the image an it will open a separate window. Funny, I own a 1st generation Kindle and it too doesn't have a way to zoom into a diagram. Maybe this will become available on the reader software's next update.

Definitely a shortcoming. While not a satisfactory solution, you can press and hold to get a small magnifying box. Better than nothing but not by much.
