ZTE Axon 7 - Unveiled

Re: OnePlusThree equals FOUR full leaks:) Plus, you know, full specs.

That... looks much better. That's a "wow" phone on paper. Has HTC seen this? Because that's what I think the HTC 10 ought to have been on paper and design wise.

Re: OnePlusThree equals FOUR full leaks:) Plus, you know, full specs.

I honestly think that may be a reaction to the OnePlus leaks. The specs are very close, probably a direct competitor.

Much better design, very similar specs (which higher res screen being obvious) and that 'dedicated AKM HiFi audio chipset, dual front-facing speakers and an amplifier chip' part makes me pretty interested.

Yeah, guess I'd better go create a separate thread somewhere...unless you want to create a subforum for it first? :)

I so wish this was a Nexus phone. Those speakers sound incredible, and the FPS is fast. That's how you make a phone with front speakers and virtually no bezels, Google. The screen looks massive.

Second this ^^

Yeah, I'm seeing people asking why they should buy this over a Nexus 6p, and I just have to say DOH! This is so many more features, for the same money. Frankly I think I'm going to ditch my brand new HTC 10 for this.

I've seen a video on this phone where you can control your music with your voice, by saying things like, "volume up", "volume down", "full volume", "next song", and "stop". And if you watch Pocketnow's hands on, it shows a rep from ZTE trying (unsuccessfully) to bend the Axon 7 shell. The phone apparently has heft to it, so it feels premium.

The hardware seems very good on this. Not sure about screen quality but the rest looks very solid. But software - Nexus wins in that category by a lot and ZTE doesn't have a good rep for software updates. But that could always change.

Viewing angles are supposedly very good on this phone, as it's a Samsung panel according to the hands on videos I've seen. It's an all around solid device. I'd say the only things I'd change are putting the Power button above the Volume buttons instead of below; I'd move the front camera from within the speaker grille, and I'd increase the battery capacity. Other than those minor nitpicks, this is a winner.
