The other thing that kills me is phones like the Honor 7X and Hauwei Mate XYZ...Why release a phone with a single band WiFi radio, no less one that works on the 2.4 gHz band, which is the MOST crowded, slowest of the two..I just don't get it. The dual band radio couldn't add THAT much to the cost could it? I think the price point for these phones is spot on, but lacking dual band WiFi is a FAIL for me.

The price of these phones are spot on. Let's face it, it is over priced. But consumers are willing to pay for it. If consumers would stop paying for these extremely over priced cell phones, than price will be cheaper.

Everything is priced just right if people keep paying the price. Lower price is only effective with the absence of value. Carriers and the OEMs are good at creating a strong perception of value and have no interest to do otherwise.

What's really interesting is the Axon 7 market right now. I'm seeing new listings on Ebay with prices in some cases higher than original retail. For a phone that no longer has support nor gets OS updates, the value in my eyes, is nearly zero. Sorry folks, but the truth of the matter is easy to see.

Just saw a video clip of Android authority on FB that ZTE phones dropped like a tank. Plus the ban hammer doesn't help.
So, it seems companies like Huawei or Xiaomi phones might be another option for comparable phones like the axon 7 or if 9 ever hits the USA market.
But it seems Huawei is having issues to.

With all the USA putting sanctions and among other things, this sucks for people that want budget price phones bit higher quality internals.
Damn I hope there is a comparable phone I can get unlocked.
I do kind of like p20 but price wise it isn't very budget friendly.
I'll guess I'll have to hold onto my axon 7 a little longer for these phone prices to come down

If you look at Googles phone list of early "P" betas, more than half are Chinese companies. I dont think Google cares in the slightest. If ZTE is no longer black listed, theyre getting the green light from Google.

I'd do an Android Oreo search if I were you. I found ZTE was missing from every Android site that posts which mfg/phones will get Oreo. Not a good sign
