ZTE Speed not a HD capable phone?

Just recently bought this phone and just trying to make sure that nothing is wrong with it. When going on YouTube it does not allow me to play videos in HD only max quality of 360p. I've tried it over WiFi and made sure the videos I was playing at least supported a minimum of 720p. Is this phone not HD capable? Even not 480p capable?

The screen's resolution is 960x540, which is below HD. HD is 720p and above. Not sure why 480p isn't an option with those videos, though.

Ah so the screen resolution is the drawback on it then for playing videos in HD thank you for clearing that up. It's a decent phone for how much its worth probably just gonna exchange it for another phone. Your personal preference would you prefer your phone to have a HD display and play HD videos?

To be honest, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference on a sub-5" screen. My old Razr Maxx was also 960x540, and videos looked fine on it. I don't really use my phone to watch high quality movies or shows anyway--I'd prefer to watch those on a larger screen (at least 7").
