ZVD/ZVJ Question

Ok I get that this allows us to use Optimus S roms on our phones but aside from opening up more rom options what does this actually do?

Better performance, battery life, signal? Or none of the above?

I'm just curious as to the true benefits of making this modification...

It can possibly get you better service. Just like the zv9 update gave me better service, and switching to zvd from there gave me even better service. And, from zvj, you can run about any rom without a problem with the zvd fix. If you go zvd radio and try zvj roms with the fix, there can be problems. Such as with the service and data.
