Wrong software number for OneClickRoot

So after the first (failed) attempt at rooting, where my number was x.xx.605.5, the number changed to x.xx.605.10. I have no idea how to get it back to where it was before I started, and to root you need the 605.5, or 605.9. I can get through the root process now, without noted failure, but I don't have root access when it's done at all.

I've tried simply looking for a software update, and even a full factory reset (which apparently doesn't touch the phone's software...). Any ideas?

To elaborate a little further (since I'm not extremely mad anymore, lol), here is what it says right before I start the rooting process through OneClick:

SDK directory found
Checking build.prop ro.product.version
1.03.605.10
If the above number ends in 605.5 or 605.9 then you can root,
IF NOT THEN YOU CANNOT ROOT USING THIS METHOD!!!
Do you wish to begin? (this process will wipe your phone), y or n?

Great, so I'm stuck like this? Time for a replacement I guess. Texting barely works now and I rarely get two bars at home, as where before I was getting 2 minimum, usually 3.

No.not at all. All you need to do is flash the .6 or .9 Thu file first. Rename to pg05img then place on your SD card and reboot phone with volume down and power button.
