I'm used to the Blackberry pushed email where it gives the option to delete just from the handset, just from the inbox, or both. Is there any thrid party software that can accomplish this with gmail, or word of any updates which may address this? I'm loving everything else about the phone, but I really do miss this.

Sounds like I need to add this to the FAQ. This is the 4th thread asking the same question. Must have been a popular BB feature.

Very popular. I'm hoping that as Android progresses, it's email handling gets refined with such a feature as this. I've been loving my new Droid the past week that I've had it, but it is a bit clumsy in the email department compared to a BB.

This is not a solution for Gmail, but if you sync with Exchange, there's a setting in Touchdown called "Don't delete emails on server", that allows you to do this.

Well you do kind of have that option. Just change the "tags" of the email and remove inbox check mark. This will "delete" (IE not show up) on the phone and leave it searchable from the phone. It will also leave it accessible from your mail account on Gmail.

For POP mail it does give you the default option to delete from server, but it's a global thing for that account, so it can't be done on an individual mail by mail instance.

that is with gmail though only. wont work for my hotmail ;)

That's why you don't use hotmail on a gmail phone ;) Redirect your hotmail to a gmail account problem solved, come on howarmat get with the big numbered overlords!!!

i have had my hotmail for almost 15 years and it works perfect for me BB. If i redirect then i still have to delete it from the hotmail account. So its a pain in the ass then

It was a joke, I know all about hotmail. I quit using it years ago thank god, and didn't even use or want gmail until I bought my Incredible. Coming from BB I just used all my personal accounts, which I still do but they are all forwarded to gmail now.

If you authorize gmail, you can respond to mail from your Gmail account with your hotmail address though if that's any help. And if it's forwarded the messages wouldn't be saved on the hotmail servers. But then you need to think about the other 15 years of hotmail emails lol.

haha i know you were joking. But i honeslty dont have a big issue with it. I have to delete from 2 devices now as it is
