How long should it take to wipe cache?

I 'm stuck in recovery where my phone is wiping the cache..
And it won't go any further.
It says:

CwM Voodoo Lagfix Recovery v2.5.1.x
--Wiping Cache...

And it's been stuck like that for the past 10 minutes....

Under 30 seconds. Sometimes it hangs. Just pull the battery and try again.

I just wasn't sure if I should pull the battery. I'm still scared of my phone.
