Leaving my phone on global mode with overseas..

I am going to be going to wales for a week. If I leave my phone in global mode with data off and never answer the phone will I incur any hidden charges??

this not exactly the same situation but real close.. i catch my phone going to data more than i direct it to. so perhaps there may be a clitch. i called verizon and ended up with someone who knew they were getting paid by the hour.. some saracasum , forgive me,, but i found i couldnt get on the internet so she had me click the mobile data to get online and me with 100mbs top speed and on fiber optics line in , and setting 5 feet from my router

supposedly we should be able to turn mobile data off, cause calls in and out dont use data .. so as of right now i cant connect internet unless i click mobile data.
I know this didnt answer yer question but thats all I had to share..
