Hide applications?

Can applications be hidden from the launcher like in launcher pro? I want to hide the stuff preinstalled that i don't use.

If (when?) you root your phone, you can use the free version of Titanium Backup. Not only can you backup your entire phone, which is always a GOOD IDEA, but there is an option to "hide" icons in the app drawer.
