I'm assuming the impending OTA update will reset everything on the phone. What is the best way to backup apps, settings, sms and mms and more importantly will I lose my levels in Angry Birds? LOL I am not rooted at this time. Thanks.

I'm not rooted either. I'm running the Trial version of MyBackup. Very quick and easy to back up Data to a file on SD card and then Apps to another file on SD Card. Not totally functional with Trial version but I'm hoping it will be all I need for a safety net for this rollout.

I don't think it goes back to stock. I think it will be the same after the fact as it was before. A backup is good of course, but my wife's evo update didn't screw anything up.

Perhaps a Droidx person who's been through it on VZW can chime in.

As everyone said above, it does not reset your phone. Everything stays the same. However, I like to do a factory reset every time I get an OTA update, just enjoy doing it :).
