Help With ESPN 3 (espn watch) App

I just grabbed the new (maybe old now) HTC thunderbolt and download the espn watch app from the market. I heard that verizon has a contract with espn so I can watch sports live through the app.

So I downloaded it, and it gave me a free trial before I had to log in. A few hours pass and I need to log it,
I put in my espn account, and select verizon internet as my provider? (Since I have verizon as my carrier is that right), then I get taken to the next screen where I log into my verizon account, and it takes me to my verizon account home screen where I can see my minutes used but nowhere to validate and help we watch sports.

Am I doing something wrong, is their an error. Any help, thanks?

I remember the first time login being a little quirky. I have Fios too and if I remember correctly, I logged in and then needed to validate via an email that I was sent.
