Photos showing bright light

Whenever I take a picture with any light at all it looks like an explosion of light. I tried changing some setting with no success. I took this picture and the sun was not shining through the door but as you can see, it looks like I took a pic of the sun! Any help would be appreciated.

This is natural.... It has to do with "camera exposure".

If you would expose for the outside light... The room would be very dark.

In this case the camera exposed for the room... Resulting in the outside being over exposed.

To compensate for this try turning on the lights... Use flash etc.

Read about" camera exposure ".. Pretty interesting stuff.
