    This issue has been driving me crazy for a long time now. Has anyone found a solution for this problem?... When I do a Google Search and then click on the links that show up from that search they never work!!! They always lead me to an error that reads "This site can't be reached, www.googleadservices.com refused to connect. Search Google for googleadservices pagead aclk"

    I am on a rooted stock 5.0 Note 3 just using Google Search (not a web browser), and I used to have ad blockers installed (ABP) but uninstalled them AND cleared all cache from all apps, restarted the device twice and I STILL have this same issue. I have even set my browsers to allow pop ups (stock and Chrome) just in case, but I cannot figure this one out.

    Please help!!

    Thanks.

    You have to turn the adblocker off before you uninstall it. Uninstallation doesn't revert back to your original hosts file.

    Since i presume you have root... Use a root file browser and remove /etc/hosts

    There should also be a file called hosts.bak that is less than 100 bytes long. Rename it to just 'hosts' (no quotes of course).

    Or..create a text file with the following lines in it:

    127.0.0.1 localhost
    ::1 localhost

    Save it as /etc/hosts

    reboot... All should be fine now

    Thanks so much for the response Donc13. I've been so tied up with other stuff over the past few days that I haven't had time to try your suggestions but I will very soon. Just wanted to say "thanks" however.

    I have rooted Nexus 6p and I have the same problem with Chrome browser. Disabling Adaway reverts hosts file to its default:
    27.0.0.1 localhost
    ::1 localhost
    After that I'm able to open previously blocked sites.
    The other solution is to use different browser. My second browser is UC Browser which is not affected by ad blocker.
