2 lines and port a number

I just did an aol with unlimited data and was wondering if I can port my main line number to Google voice then port it back to the unlimited data line. Is this possible??

I also checked the change your number section and it shows a selection to port your number.

As I understand it, the phone number stays with the line if you do an AOL. However, you can change the number to any currently unused Verizon number. You can't choose a non-Verizon number, though so you can't port a number to an AOL line.

Double check with Verizon, but that is how I understand it.
