Well....you got problems, that's for sure and for certain.
We got answers though. You need to try flashing the Cannibal Open Touch recovery in it's zipped form (will say .zip on the end). First make sure that the backup in the clockworkmod folder is actually there. If not, then download and put on the root of the sd card the MiRaGe ROM and 20110828 Gapps. Leave them zipped.

Put the zipped Cannibal Open Touch recovery (COT for short) on the root of the sd card. Get into the curent recovery and select the "install zip from sd card" option. Then the "select zip from sd card" option. Pick the COT recovery and let it install. When done back out to the main menu.
Go to the Advanced section and pick the "reboot recovery" option. Now it will hopefully boot into the COT recovery.
There is an option in the menu to "fix recovery loop". I can't remember where it's located on the COT recovery, but it's there. Select it when you find it.
Now restore your backup or install the ROM and Gaps if the backup is corrupted.

Note: If the COT recovery did not work to get you out of the recovery loop then you will have to flash Virgin Mobiles ZV9 security update which will update the radio and return the phone to a bone stock state (including the recovery).
