Could my phone have a virus?

Problem with Notification Panel icon(top right icon).

I own a android one phone launched last year, specifically Micromax AQ4501 (runs android 4.4.4),for a week now i have been facing this problem where the top right icon in the notification bar which helps switch between settings and notifications keeps shifting to the right and sometimes it completely disappears,and reappears after a few hours or after a reboot ..anyone having any idea regarding the same ??? Is there a Virus?

i have included all the pics of the same ,one shows where only half of it is visible and the rest is beyond the scope of the display,second where it completely disappears and the third which is its default place.

I don't think its a virus...more like a bug in the ROM. As for how to fix it, it probably can't short of an update.

i am actually awaiting an update to lollipop.Its quite annoying actually,thanks for the reply.
But the problem cropped up after i made a hotspot with my network and a rooted device (my friend's) connected to it,not immediately but after 6-7 hours.
