WIFI to Mobile Network Problem

Since the recent update to Lollipop, when i'm out of range of any connected WIFI, my mobile network (2g-3g-4g) does not come on like it used to be and auto-magically take over the connection. I have to put the phone on flight mode and take back off again for it to come on... is this a known issue and is there a fix for it, anyone knows please?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone do you have? Go to Settings>Wi-fi, tap Menu>Advanced Settings, and see what happens if you turn off "Scanning always available."
