Why does my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge display "Failed download" when connected to WiFi?

Whenever I connect to a WiFi network, a little grey oval with the words, "Failed download" appears on the bottom of my screen. It seems to fade out and back in quickly a couple times after it initially shows up, which leads me to believe there are multiple "Failed download". I have just recently reinstalled my devices firmware through Kies3, and it never did that before I used Kies3. Any ideas?

Here is a screenshot of the error: https://i.gyazo.com/eb7738c85f34e129c4a3116875006b32.png

Welcome to Android Central! Moved from the Marshmallow forum to the S7 edge forum.

Is the phone able to access the web normally otherwise? These kinds of downloads are sometimes related to language dictionaries that are updated in the background.

Yes, everything works perfectly, just that message is extremely annoying.

It can be difficult to pinpoint which app is trying to download data. If it were in the status bar, you could long-press it and get the app info, but I'm not sure how to figure it out with these toast notifications.

EDIT: Try creating a Notifications Log widget on your homescreen to see if it tells you what app was creating the toast: https://www.androidpit.com/how-to-recover-lost-notifications-on-android. Otherwise, try this app: Notification History
