If anyone has this APK and will be willing to share I will really appreciate it. I updated to the newer version and hate it. I don't want to create a Linkedin account just to use Pulse.

Update: Solved! Fired up my Note 2, Titanium Back Up and backed up Pulse (PreLinkedin version). I then went into File manager - found the pulse apk.gaz file - "expanded" it - copied the apk over to my non-android phone and installed. Works great. I'm actually going to redo the process and eliminate the Market link. That should eliminate the "update" in Play Store. Now that I figured this out I'll be able to install more of the apps I have on my Note2 in my non-Android phone.
