Something's wrong with my galaxy s3

2 days ago I was using my rooted galaxy s3 and then when I went to unlock the screen, it would freeze up with half a black screen & now it's just showing a quarter of the screen but is still functional ... I really would like to use my phone so any help would be great

Can you access recovery? Power off the device and hold volume up+volume+home+power until the recovery loads. If it does, scroll down using volume down and power to select factory reset. Reboot when it finishes and see if everything is improved.

If it doesn't, then it's likely a bad screen that needs to be replaced. You can look online for information to do it yourself or send it to repair.
