searching for a device

[AC Question]

is there a device that will allow me to speak on the phone in a way that no one
besides the caller on the other side would hear me.
like earphone that allow you to hear music with no one else hearing it...

If there were such a thing it would have to have the most fantastically complex noise-cancellation technology built into and all around it.
You'd better revert to an earlier technology....the middle of a field.

Man, I wish they invented one and make it compulsory for everyone to use.

Some people drag everyone into their inane private conversation and it drives me bonkers.

MANY PEOPLE DO THAT. THEY SHOUT RATHER THAN SPEAK. EVERYONE IN THE VICINITY IS OBLIGED TO LISTEN TO WHAT THEY'RE SAYING. If I'm with a friend we'll join in and say loudly OH, I WONDER WHAT HE'S GOING TO THINK OF THAT (the person on the other end of the phone) AND OH, THAT'S INTERESTING, and WELL, I SUPPOSE YOU COULD TRY THAT and so on. The phone user may sometimes be quite offended by this, as if it hadn't occurred to them that they might be annoying others.
