I am having some issues with my Samsung S4 after the latest firmware updates, before when plugging the default headset into the headphone jack the audio for the video would come off this mic and not the default microphones on the device.
Now this is no longer working, the default microphones record the sound even with a headset(with a mic!) plugged into the phone. (I've tested the mic for calls and stuff it works fine) ....
The particular reason I need this microphone is, I record video in a high noise environment (the cockpit of an aircraft) and all you can hear with the default mic is engine noise, what I used to do was, put the headset microphone into the earcup of the aircraft intercom headset and it picked up intercom and air traffic control conversations easily and worked very well.
It no longer does this....as it used to work before I'd imagine there is a software setting somewhere for this.
