Why are all my close up pictures poor quality on my camera?

poor quality on camera

last weekend I took my razr m apart and replaced the battery. I noticed that I ca'tn scan a bar code any more because to close up picture quality is not clear. Once the picture is 5-10 foot out the picture is good. It's just close up pictures. Do anyone know what I did. I imagine I have to tear it all apart again -- right?

Did you have to lift the camera module out of the way temporarily, or disturb any of the connectors? It almost sounds as if it's not changing focus at all.

Yes I had the camera unplug ed and the camera module out. I thought I got it back in right but I must have messed something up

You probably did. Got a piece of dust in it, jamming the focusing mechanism, failed to plug the cable back in securely, put something in the way of the focusing movement. You'll either have to tear it apart again - at least to the point of taking the camera out, blowing it clean with a VERY light flow of air (and maybe brushing it with a lens brush before and after) and making sure you put it back with nothing blocking the mechanism.

Or you could bring it to a repair shop and pay them to do it.

Rukbat -- I took my phone apart again and cleaned i with some air and a brush. Re-seated the camera plug and put it all back together. That worked. --Thanks
