Why won't my Galaxy S 3 boot up?

[AC Question]

Galaxy S 3 wont boot up

the phone does turn on and gets to the screed that says Samsung galaxy s 3 then stops. If I press power up home and power then release power when this screen appears it comes up with a load of files and keeps saying failed to mount. Then gives me the option to factory restore and so on but non will work.

At the moment I tried volume down and home and power button and now says downloading do not turn off target but its been about 15 mins now and doesn't look like it is doing anything?

If anyone knows how to get it working again would be great. I have looked around and cant find anything that seems to help me. for example changing the battery and banging the power button (which im sure Is a bad idea)
