Why isn't my Nexus 2013 connecting to Google after 4.4.4 update?

My nexus 2013 wont connect to Google after 4.4.4 update

hey so after i updated my nexus a wile back it got orange wifi bars iv done the reading and found out it means that it cant connect to Google (server that is) so Google search still worked you tube worked as well but i could not log in to use my subscriptions. after a wile of not being able to use the play store and youtube subscriptions i thought maybe it was the up date so i thought if i factory reset the device maybe the update to kitkat will be gone to and thats what i did but the update was not erased and now i have a tabet with no apps because whenever i try to do the system set up i choose a wifi (yes iv tryed other wifi networks) i have to sign into my gmail account but i cant because i cant connect to google please help

Welcome to Android Central! I've seen this from time to time, and I'm not quite sure how it happens. Is the tablet's date and time exactly correct? Incorrect date or time can sometimes cause problems when linking to a server.
