Why aren' t the notifications on the top of the bar showing on my lock screen?

Notifications on top bar not showing on lock screen

I have a GS5 and it recently updated to the new 5.0 update and it seems that from the top bar only on the lock screen I can no see what notifications I have and instead it just shows "Sprint" where they all would be. This is only on the lock screen though, as soon as I unlock it they're there.

Is there any way/setting to get them back? I hate the notification set up on the main part of the screen and would prefer to have the little icons again.
