i don't hear anything when i call someone or receive a call from my htc one xl phone. pls help.

Welcome to Android Central. You might have a hardware issue with the earpiece. Have you looked for a repair shop that can give at least an estimate?

Hi I'm having same problem too I can't hear anything some times but when I restart my device the problem goes off but it's coming after again

Rooting, unless the process went rogue and corrupted something, has nothing to do with either the earpiece (or firmware associated with it) or the phone.
