why can't I get my sd card to work

I am using an LG VS450PP. Running android 4.4.2 when I insert an sd card (pny 16g class 4) it says sd card inserted on notification bar, but I can't move any apps or anything to the card, please help

Welcome to Android Central. The data that can be moved to the SD card depends on the developer. If they support that, then data can be moved, and it depends on how much. Still, only some of the data can be moved, not all of it.

But I can't even load my photos to the sd card either I kNew some apps couldn't But photos....?

As of version 4, an app can only write to a folder it has write rights to on the SD card, the same as has always been true with internal storage. To change that, you'll have to root the ROM, then install NextApp SDFix: KitKat Writable MicroSD (root) (or something similar - that's the one I use).

I don't understand. That renders a card on this device useless. Surely it's faulty, not formatted or recognised properly. It should be able to move media to sd card via a file / music manager, and some apps.

I tried formatting the card a few diff ways and always the sd card says it is inserted but can't transfer media

Hello. If you formatted it in the phone and it's showing as available in Storage you should be able to move some files to it using a file manager, or from the camera. It's not the best card in the world. My Kingston class 4 lasted about 3 months in my Note 3. Sandisk and Samsung are best, you don't need the fastest.

I figured it out, had. Mesed up partition on my sd card the whole sd was secondary partition
