Why does it take so long to charge my phone?

My phone does not charge properly

Here.. i have gionee p3

it does not charge.. i left it for like 4 hours on charging (42%) and it charged upto 65% only
plz if anyone can help..!

Assuming that the mains socket is good, it could be a faulty charger, USB lead, USB port, battery, or other....in fact, just about every pissibility. You'll have to eliminate them one by one.

Make sure the USB port is clean and fluff-free.

Normally, assuming that it can draw as much power as it wants from the charger, that would indicate a battery nearing the end of its life - or you're drawing a lot of power for a game or a very bright screen or a very weak phone signal, so there's not much left of the current coming in from the charger to charge the battery, most of it's going to run the phone.
