Why won't my S5 Active screen turn off?

Screen won't turn off S5 Active.

So a few days ago my s5 active started going straight to the search engine app everytime I hit the home button and would get stuck there so I call my provider and they said do a reset on the phone. So I did and now my phones back light/screen will not "go to sleep" unless I push the lock button.

Check the screen timeout value, and change it to something else, then to what you want. If that's short enough, try a restart. (Some apps change the value without changing it on the Settings screen, so even though it says 30 seconds, it's set to 10 minutes.).
