Will Verizon edge accept a trade in on a phone with a replacement screen?

I currently have a Samsung s5 through the Verizon edge program. I have met the max number of insurance claims through asurion and no longer have insurance. I dropped my phone tonight and the screen cracked. Its not unusable because i have a tempered glass protector on it but I'm considering getting the screen replaced at the local phone repair shop. *My question is when I go to trade in my phone through edge for an upgrade will Verizon be able to tell it's a replacement screen? They said they won't take replacement phones other than ones given through asurion but will the original device with a new screen be accepted?
