Why has my video player changed?

[AC Question]

I recently updated my Sony Xperia T, and after the update my video player for things like Chrome, YouTube and Flixster has just become a grey box at the bottom of the screen saying how long the video is and how much I've watched, rather than having a play/pause button and the seek bar which lets me drag it where I want to skip to in the video, which tends to be annoying as it means I have to watch ALL the credits at the end of a film to classify the film as watched. Any help?

Welcome to Android Central! What was the update? Was it an official system update over the air, or did you manually install a custom ROM?
