Are you still rooting android phones for free?

I have an LG G2 phone that an update from AT&T was installed so now I get the message " patch was installed, can no longer root phone"

I'm not sure what you mean. Android Central does not offer a rooting service, although some members will help you with that if they can.
Is there no support site for your carrier that would tell you more about the update?
