How to fix: screen freezes when I go to Settings /Accounts / Google

I have a Nexus 6 which was upgraded to Marshmallow about a week ago.

It's linked to about 5 Google accounts.

I noticed that some of my app data was different between the phone and the cloud eg some recently entered Google Tasks, so I suspected a sync problem.

I went to Settings / Accounts / Google to see what was wrong and it lists the 5 accounts, but the screen freezes. Touching the account names doesn't take you to the details page and touching the 3 dots to get the drop down menu doesn't do anything either. Basically, this settings screen doesn't let you do anything.

I can go back to the home page and I can use the bib=Google accounts pages without a problem.

Any ideas?
