Why isn't battery optimisation working on Moto X Play(16gb)??

[AC Question]

When I select all apps in battery optimisation and states "optimising battery use" haven't seen a single app optimised. When I exit out of settings it reverts to 'no apps'

Any suggestions?

Welcome to Android Central! Is your phone on Marshmallow? If so, are you referring to the Battery Optimization feature native to Android (that only started with Marshmallow), or to some Motorola-specific feature?

yes I am referring to the native feature not some motorola specific. and yeah my phone is running on Android 6.0

The default view of the Battery Optimization menu for me (on my Nexus 6P) is to show the apps that are Not Optimized, and it only shows two--DMService and Google Play Services. On your phone, that menu lists pretty much every app?

That is strange. I have a Moto X Pure Edition, and I only have 3 apps that don't have battery optimization available.

This is exactly what I get on my X Play.
