Is there a way to listen to audio from the internet while doing something else on the phone?

I am trying to listen to a live news station from the internet. When I press play the phone gives me options on what app to use (video player, playerpro (which does not work), and photos (???)).

I choose video player, and it works, but when I go to another app, like say Chrome, the audio stops. Is there any way to play the audio while doing something else on the phone??

Video player is not one which you can leave the active screen and it still plays, why videos stop playback when you put the screen to sleep. Anyway all you need is an app that plays back until stopped. There are several at the play store and a simple Google for playback apps with other apps open will show them to you.
