'Select sd card' not working

When i try to save changes to root>system>etc>permissions>platform.xml file the 'select sd card' prompt appears but it wont select my sd card even though i choose the top level root folder of my sd card

I'm trying to add the <group gid=”media_rw” /> command to allow me to edit the contents of my SD card and I get this problem
