How to fix a broken touchscreen?

My screen stopped responding, I pulled the battery and reset it several times. Then tried to fix it by holding the volume and power button, but it only remained on the downloading screen for an hour and did nothing. I need to fix my phone and I don't know how, any suggestion

It depends on the device, but if you are determined to do it yourself, there may be helpful videos on YouTube. Of course you would need to correctly diagnose the fault first.

It sounds like you booted into Download Mode rather than Recovery. You may want to have another go at that first.
