Random Android alert thing telling me to download new launcher or my phone will be locked. legit?

[AC Question]

I was on my phone trying to look up a TV show when I got this weird pop up kinda thing telling me that Google had found out this supposed super virus that was going after Android system device and that I need to download and install this new launcher in 1 day or my phone was going to be locked. I cannot tell if this is really or not. I have not downloaded it and. I'm worried that if it's real, I'll be locked out of my phone.
