How do i delete a software update that is already installed?

A

AC Question

I have been ignoring the Lillipop 5 update on my Samsung Galaxy s5 for months, but my toddler got a hold of my phone and installed the stupid thing. How do i delete it and go back to my preferred, previous version? This new software update is killing the functionality of my phone and I hate it. Also, i'm a novice, so please explain for dummies. Much appreciated!

Generally speaking you can't usually go backwards in software.
Factory reset might start you off again at the original software but it's a major pain losing all your data etc and having to sign into all your accounts etc.. keeping small hands away from complex electronic devices would be obvious to me, however....
You may be able to take it to a dealer who maybe can do something but i suspect you are stuck with lollypop.
