Why is my screen have 3 layers of static?

I know that this happened to my screen last night when I fell asleep on youtube and my phone overheated. However it did not turn off thanks to youtube autoplay feature. It woke me up and it was super hot. I turned it off and booted it up some time later to see if it worked it did but the screen now has static on the lowest brightness setting and around it but if I have my brightness up it no longer is visible until I turn of my phone it then turns white for a split second and then turns off. My question is will this eventually break my phone or can I fix the issue.

Welcome to the forums. I think the issue will get worse, but it should be repairable. It isn't something I would suggest for anyone to do. Do you have any local repair shops nearby that can give you a quote?
