How do I get rid of viruses on my phone

I was on the Internet and was told I had 6 virus on my phone all coming from the same up address

Hi, whatever you do. don't download the software they are recommending you install.

Is this the first time you have seen this error?
does this error only appear when you visit a certain "type" of websites?
Do you get this error message while navigating through the phone?

Can you give us more info please?
