Why is my phone sending text messages on its own if im not by it or on it

when i am not by the phone and when i go to check the messages it has something i never even text because i was not with my phone for about 2 hrs and this has bin hapining for a long time now i dont know what to do

It is more than likely a rogue or malicious app that you have downloaded. Try entering safe mode and see if it still continues. Your options are to download a program such as Malwarebytes available in the play store, or a factory reset, which is probably what I would do!
