phone charging issue

[AC Question]

I own a ZTE grand Max. Yesterday out was working fine. Today though it won't charge when plugged in. It won't even register the cord. However when off it will register the cord being plugged in and show the charging icon. There won't be any charge when I turn it back on though. If off, and I plug in the cord and it shows the charging icon, once I take out the cord it will continue to show the icon. I can't figure out what's wrong
